Ever since I started blogging a couple of years ago, I’ve noticed that the world of fashion and beauty blogging really is a huge community. Most bloggers will do an awful lot to help out others and the constant parties, showcases and meet-ups aimed at bloggers are evidence of this. I’ve always had so much fun blogging and creating discussions with other people who share similar interests to me and I really appreciate that others enjoy my work. This is why I’m so pleased that Taken By The Lapels has nominated me for a Liebster Award!
Thank you to the lovely Taken By The Lapels for nominating me for the Liebster Award! I really enjoy reading her blog, it’s full of fun little posts about her life and her personality really shines through her blog. My favourite post of hers is on the new worrying ‘bikini bridge‘ trend and the best thing is loving yourself for you. This is a particular favourite of mine as I do a lot of work on body image in fashion etc so her blog really interests me. Plus her design is very cute, so make sure you go over and have a look!
Before you get exploring all these new blogs, here is a rundown on how the Liebster Award works! Those blogs nominated are blogs with huge potential but with fewer followers than the bigger blogs. If you’re nominated and you choose to ‘accept’ your award, this is what happens:
How did you pick your blog’s name? I played around with a lot of different names when I first came up with the blog and decided on a whim that Emily Fashion Fiend might work. I still don’t know after two years whether I like the name or not but it’s stuck!
What would your superhero name be? This is a toughie! I can’t decide, I’d love it to be something awesome and trademark worthy but it would probably just be something based on my annoyance of bad spelling and grammar!
What’s your favourite TV show? I have different shows for different moods. I love detective shows like Criminal Minds but then I love a New Girl marathon. I also love Family Guy and Archer – again, it totally depends on my mood and what I feel like watching that day!
What are three things on your bucket list? To move to London, to do a parachute jump and have a happy family. They aren’t necessarily huge things to do but they are all things I dream to do! It’s important to have dreams and hopes for the future and I’m looking forward to crossing all of these off my list.
Who is your favourite fictional character? Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series – sad but true. I toyed with this question for a while and thought about all the books I read but when growing up, I just wanted to be her. She’s intelligent, loyal and she’s likeable, she was such an inspiration for me growing up. No other character ever affected me as much as her and I like to think my personality is a little like hers! And of course Emma Watson did her a great justice by playing her in the films!
What is your most prized possession? To be honest, I don’t know if I have a possession that is extremely prized to me. My friendships, my relationship and my family are extremely precious to me and they are things that I would never want to lose but physical things aren’t high upon my list of prized possessions!
Describe yourself in three words. Uptight, driven but loyal.
What is your guiltiest pleasure? Watching trash TV, I am a sucker for a terrible reality show – Geordie Shore, Beauty School Cop Outs, you name it, I’ve watched it!
What is your proudest accomplishment? Graduating with a university degree in Journalism and New Media, being one of the first in my family to get a degree. Also getting a great mark on my thesis – I worked for months tirelessly on it and I was very proud of both it and the recognition of how I did.
What’s your favourite post that you’ve written? This post is one of my more personal posts that I had written a couple of years back about my career aspirations, I enjoyed writing it and a lot of people commented about it!
Now for the people I feel deserve real recognition for their blogs! I hope you accept! Some of these have more than 200 followers but I really enjoy reading them!
