I know that if you’re all any bit like me, you may be a tad sick of seeing pictures of Rihanna’s semi-naked bod all over the internet constantly. With no pants, in a bikini, doesn’t matter what it is – Ri-Ri will flaunt it! But for a change, we’re seeing the ‘Umbrella’ superstar endorsing clothing as she unveils her new clothing line for River Island this evening.
Rihanna released a preview of her desirable collection for River Island in a short video leaked online. She takes us through a tour of her design studio with her co-designer Adam Selman, covering everything from model fitting for the clothing to collection sketches. This debut fashion line will be showcased for the first time in a catwalk show at London Fashion Week this evening. The ‘diverse collection’ is a real extension of Rihanna a.k.a. Robyn Fenty’s style, ranging from tops with plunging backs to floor-length dresses with sheer panelling.
It is Rihanna’s aim to be able to dress every girl and make her feel as stylish as she does. She said, “I wanted all types of girls to be able to wear this and feel comfortable but edgy…I wanted there to be character within the clothes, but without it trying too hard. Its just simple.”
It may be a strange shock to the system for poor Ri-Ri though. Knowing that she spends half her life in undress, it may be hard to live up to the hype. Will she be able to design a collection good enough to make her put some clothes on?
Rihanna has been in the press a lot in the past few months between her wardrobe-related escapades and the reconciliation with rapper Chris Brown that previously had a conviction for assaulting her. Friends and critics alike have publically pleaded for the songstress to break ties with the ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ singer so maybe this new collection with River Island is exactly what Rihanna needs to get this man out of her system!
However, don’t worry about her changing her personality, just after the video had been put online, Rihanna was back to her old self posting a topless photo of herself on Instagram. Phew Rihanna, you had us worried there!
