ITWBN: The First Blogger Meet-Up

There is nothing better than a blogger’s meet up every now and again. It’s been a while since I’ve been to one of these parties so I was delighted when Sinead from Yummy Mummy FL announced that she was organising a party for the bloggers in the Into The West Blogger Network. So Saturday, my best friend Babs from Babs Scribbles and I headed along to the G Hotel for an afternoon tea party with some fabulous other bloggers.

We met up with good friends Jess from Beautiful Health and Seána from Innocent Illusion at the hotel and settled down with some complimentary prosecco for some chats with other bloggers. There were tons of laughs, pictures and selfies (of course) and it was great to catch up with ladies that we’ve met at other parties like Aoife from Town Mouse Country Mouse and Rebecca Casserly from Bec Boop. Jess and I got some Raspberry Bubbles which started the afternoon off perfectly. We got lovely G Hotel chocolates and polaroid pictures to commemorate the afternoon.

Friends

It was great to meet some new bloggers that we mightn’t have met before like Anna from Anna MUA, Hannah from Crimson Threads and Elisha from Along Came Pollly, who are quite new to the blogging scene. We had a photographer from Sweet Memories, who took some lovely photos of everyone so check out her page here. We got some fabulous goodies bags so thanks to Cara Pharmacy and Publicity Loft for some amazing products to try, from Wet n Wild to La Roche-Posay.

Food

I’ve been trying some of the products since I came home and am particularly loving the new La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo which I’m hoping to try sort out the acne breakout that has erupted on my face recently. Who knew that still happened at the age of 22? I’m also loving the Avéne Gentle Purifying Scrub, which has been perfect with my sensitive skin, especially when spraying with the Avéne Thermal Spring Water after.

There was loads of afternoon tea to go around so we all gorged ourselves on scones and macaroons with more prosecco and cocktails. It was great to chat about fashion, photography and collaborations with so many like-minded people and swapping tips about our favourite blogs and beauty products. I had a great day catching up with Babs, Jess and Seána, who I definitely don’t see enough! We had a great laugh together, got loads of photos and caught up later at my house for a few glasses of wine and cocktails! Thanks to Sinead from Yummy Mummy FL for a fantastic afternoon and it was lovely meeting so many new people. As for my outfit, I wore Born leather leggings, a vintage green shirt, M&S black blazer and Zara heels.

Before I pop off, I just want to say thank you to everyone who sent such kind wishes about our Smedia win for Intrigue.ie. Myself, Brian and the whole team are so delighted that we were chosen as Website of the Year and that our hard work has been so well rewarded! Also I’m lucky to have been awarded JCI Galway’s Top Outstanding Young Person of the Year for my work with Intrigue.ie and I’ve had so many lovely messages and tweets about the two awards so I really appreciate your support!

Until next time,

Keep Styling,

Em
