It was a cold frosty evening in Galway when the masters of the Galway blogosphere descended on Sheridans Cheesemongers for the re-launch of Innocent Illusion. A well-established blog across the globe, Innocent Illusion follows the travels and work of make-up artist and beauty enthusiast Seána Curley. From interviews to tutorials to tips about her favourite beauty buys, Seána has a clear love for beauty and this reflects in her massive international fan base. The new blog is stuffed full of pictures, articles and reviews for the modern and beauty-conscious woman!
The night itself was both fun and sophisticated and the Galway blogging community came out in force to support one of their own. There were a lot of familiar faces and the swopping of business cards and website names was constant. I attended the event with friends and fellow bloggers Jessica Thompson from The Daily Shift and Meghan McCord Millar of Contour and Cashmere and a great evening was had by all. The wine and prosecco was flowing, there was fantastic food and it was great to catch up with other bloggers who I would see regularly at these events now!
We got presentations from companies such as Meemaw Bags, Irish Rain Cosmetics and PIA Galway. Eimear Fahy from Meemaw Bags had some stunning bags on display and had selections for every occasion from a night out with the girls to a wedding! The mixture of fabrics, colours and designs made them bang on trend and I’m pretty sure all of us went home with the intentions of buying at least one! PIA, a boutique, was showcasing some gorgeous party dresses, jewellery and accessories; a fabulous mixture of furs, sequins and festive colours to get us all through the Christmas party season. They had everything a woman could need for the Xmas festivities and I’m really looking forward to dropping into the shop for a better look.
Irish Rain Cosmetics also gave a us a quick talk and their products looked absolutely fab. Irish-made beauty products are fast becoming popular all over the world, especially when boasting their organic properties, so I suspect Irish Rain will be on the rise very soon. What drew us bloggers to the collection was the attention to detail on the packaging – each different product came in its own beautiful pot or bottle of a different colour and it’s clear the company know their target market so well. I was given a bottle of Nourishing Restorative Body Oil so keep an eye out for a review on it soon!
All in all, the night was a fantastic success and Seána did a great job at hosting and keeping us all very entertained! It was a fabulous night and I look forward to doing it all again soon at Style In The City next week!
Until next time,
